Classification of steel decks

Steel decks have been widely used in buildings and industrial buildings such as floors, roofs and bridge decks. So in the face of many types of steel decks, How are steel decks classified?

Classification according to force

The steel deck is divided into steel floor decking and steel form decking according to the way of stress. According to different deck types, the rib height of the steel deck is also different. The rib height of the Solideck steel deck is divided into: 35 mm, 38 mm, 46 mm, 51 mm, 65 mm, 76 mm, 108 mm etc.

Classification by steel deck shape

The shape of the steel deck is divided into trapezoidal steel deck, re-entrant steel deck, flat profile. The difference in shape may result in different cross-sectional properties of the steel deck itself, resulting in different resistance capabilities.Among them, re-entrant steel deck and flat profile are steel floor decking, and part of trapezoidal steel deck is steel form decking.

Classification according to steel deck rib height

According to the height of the rib, it is divided into low rib and high rib. Low rib: SD35-750, SD38-915, SD46-600, SD51-915, SD51-750; high rib: SD65-555, SD66-720, SD65-510, SD76-915, SD76-690, SD76 -600 etc.

The difference in rib height is not only a difference in the strength of the force capacity, but also affects the thickness of the steel deck composite floor. For example, when the thickness of the floor slab is small, only low-rib steel decks can be selected. When the span of the steel beam is large, it is necessary to choose a high-rib steel deck with a strong resistance distance.

Based on the above, the classification of steel decks in different ways is more conducive to our selection of suitable steel decks in the design and construction process.
